AFU UASI

Why We're Here

I regret to inform my community about my exceedingly negative experience with Afu Usai and his so-called contracting company, Hawaiian Paradise aka HP Contractors. I hired them with the hope of expanding our driveway, a project initially quoted at $6,500. Eager to get started, I paid an installment of $500 on July 15, followed by additional payments that brought my total contribution to $3,900.

After some initial progress in mid-August, where the area was marked off, the project quickly descended into a frustrating cycle of delays and unfulfilled promises. Despite multiple attempts to reach out and the project gaining city approval on October 5, 2022, the work came to a complete standstill. No one from Hawaiian Paradise returned to continue the work, and the owner's promises to visit the site again were empty.

The situation has left us with a partially dug-up driveway, now filled with debris and leaves, rendering it not only unusable but also unsafe. The exposed metal rods on our lawn present a hazard, and the lack of parking space has become more than just an inconvenience; it's a daily reminder of the trust and money wasted on Afu Usai.

At this point, I've lost all interest in having Usai or his team anywhere near my property. I am publicly requesting a full refund so that I can hire a reputable contractor to rectify this mess. My experience serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering hiring Afu Usai or HP Contractors. Do not be swayed by persuasive talks or promises. Protect your investment and peace of mind by choosing someone more reliable and transparent in their business practices.
